OLD NEWS
Egg Tempera
30 x 42 inches

Here in the aging, yellowing newsprint we are witnessing the approaching end of an era. The old, tied up bundles of newspapers are symbols of a bygone time as the method by which we receive our information is changing. Gone are the days the artist experienced as a youth when the Cub Scouts would conduct paper drives, gathering up these bundles into the back of a station wagon to earn money for the pack. Soon this sight, like many other things the artist has witnessed, will disappear from the American scene and simply become "Old News".
